Climate
Occasionally called "The Isles of Perpetual June", the Exumas have a tropical climate and temperatures range in summer from 80°F to 90°F and in winter from 70°F to 80°F. Sea temperature averages 75°F in Feb and 84°F in August. Wind speeds average 12 knots and rainfall is mainly in the form of tropical showers that clear quickly.

Getting There
It is easy to reach Fowl Cay, Bahamas. Guests fly to Nassau, Bahamas or Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and then take a short, 40-minute charter from Nassau or 2 hour charter from Ft. Lauderdale to Staniel Cay Airstrip. The Fowl Cay boat will pick you up at Staniel Cay for the short boat ride to the island.

English is the offical language of the Bahamas.
Telecommunications
Communication in the Bahamian out-islands is not always reliable. The Fowl Cay office is equipped with SAT Internet and SAT fax. They also have available a BATELCO (Bahama Telephone Co.) service called Quick Cell. Fowl Cay owns FIVE of these cell phones for which they can sell you phone cards. This enables you to make calls anywhere. You may obtain this phone through the managers should you need to make an occasional phone call. We ask that guests use all of this equipment sparingly.
