History & Nature

This historic fort is part of Grenada's history by being the center of the island's October 1983 political disturbance when Maurice Bishop and part of his cabinet were executed by a faction of the People's Revolutionary Government. The fort is now a symbol of peace - it's the headquarters of the Royal Grenada Police Force.

La Sagesse Nature Centre

Located on the southwestern coast of Grenada, La Sagesse Nature Centre is a quiet estuary where avid bird watchers and naturalists flock to view rare island species. Within the area is also a salt pond where many have viewed the brown-crested flycatcher, Caribbean coot, and the northern Jacuna. La Sagesse is also popular for its picturesque beaches and coral reef for snorkeling.
