St. Barth - Beaches

Saline Beach

Located on the South End of St. Barth just a short drive from St. Jean is Saline Beach. This picture-perfect white sand beach is a natural beauty. There are no vendors pushing island souvenirs, no locals roaming the beach offering to braid your hair, and no nearby restaurants pumping out loud music. It's just you, the sand, the blue water and a magnificent view. Clothing optional.

Gouverneur Beach

Located on the South End of St. Barth just a short drive from Gustavia is Gouverneur Beach. This is one of the best beaches on the island boasting white sand kissing clear blue Caribbean water. Quiet and remote. Clothing optional.

St. Jean Beach

One of the most well-known beaches in the Caribbean, St. Jean is a wide stretch of white sand where visitors gather to watch small planes take-off and land at the airport -- a favorite pasttime of both locals and island guests. Nikki Beach and Eden Rock offer two popular beachfront restaurants where guests can enjoy a gourmet meal and then slip into the water for a swim. A watersports facility is nearby with snorkeling equipment, windsurfers, and sailboats. The small, picturesque town of St. Jean offers upscale designer boutiques for excellent shopping.

Flamands Beach

Flamands Beach is a beautiful and wide stretch of white sand. Locals and visitors gather here for a peaceful day in the sun. With a strong surf and current, young children should be watched carefully when playing in the water.

Columbier Beach

Located on the far west shore of the island is Columbier Beach. This is one of the most remote beaches on the island because it is only accessible by foot. Visitors need only to park the car just beyond Flamands Beach and take a 30 minute hike to reach this secluded area. We recommend bringing a baguette and a bottle of wine to enjoy while you view the wonderful sunsets from this romantic spot.

Marigot Bay

Lined with palm trees, Marigot Bay is a small and pleasant beach that offers excellent swimming in its calm waters. Be sure to bring your snorkeling gear as there are many colorful fish by the side rocks.

L'Orient Beach

L"Orient is a reef protected beach with little surf and good swimming. It is also very quiet. A grocery store and pastry shop are just a short walk away.

Grand Cul de Sac

Grand Cul de Sac is a calm shallow lagoon that is perfect for kids or enthusiastic swimmers. Hotels, restaurants, windsurfing and kayaking are here. However, even with these wonderful amenities the beach remains quiet.

Petit Cul de Sac

Nestled in the northeast corner of St Barth is this calm protected lagoon with beautiful white sand beach. It remains a favorite for its peaceful setting.

Shell Beach

Located in Gustavia, Shell Beach is a calm beach covered with shells. When the other beaches are windy and rough, count on Shell Beach to be tranquil enough for swimming and sunning. There is alo a popular restaurant here to dine for an early dinner when you can watch the sunset in winter.
