St. Thomas - Beaches
Sapphire Beach
East End
Located near Red Hook on the East End of St. Thomas, Sapphire Beach is a good place to sun and swim. It offers a beach bar/restaurant and a large sport facility to rent everything from waverunners to kayaks and sunfish. There is also a beach volleyball court on the white sand. Enjoy this lively beach with its view of St. John in the distance.
Magen's Bay Beach
North End
Located on the North End of St. Thomas near Peterborg, Magen's Bay is a popular beach tucked between two mountains just three miles north of Charlotte Amalie. Follow a hiking trail from the beach to Little Magen's Bay for a less inhabited, clothing-optional beach. Concessions, water sports, changing facilities and a beach bar are all available. The beach is open from 6am-6pm.
Morning Star Beach
South End
Just past Marriott Frenchman's Reef Resort is Morning Star Beach. A variety of items are available for rent here including snorkel gear, floats, umbrellas and lounge chairs. Restaurants are located on the beach for your convenience.
Lindquist Beach
East End
Lindquist Beach is a gorgeous white sand beach located between Wyndham Sugar Bay Beach Club and Sapphire Beach Resort. It's relatively quiet compared to Sapphire Beach and Magen's Bay Beach, which makes it a great place to relax and enjoy your privacy.
Water Island
Located just off the coast of St. Thomas and its main harbor is lovely Water Island. About 150 residents of the island commute to and from St. Thomas via ferry or their own small boat. Honeymoon Bay is located just down from the ferry dock. This is a great place to get away from the crowds of St. Thomas and enjoy a more remote beach location. Snorkeling is good here, too, so be sure to bring your gear!
