Virgin Gorda - Beaches
The Baths
The Baths are arguably the most famous site in the BVI. Large boulder formations create caves and pools of water located at the southern tip of the island. The area is frequented by tourists and often crowded so it's best to go early morning or late afternoon to avoid cruise ship crowds. Vendors selling beverages, island jewelry and souvenirs are located on the main beach. Just a short walk from the beach, Top of The Baths (284-495-5497) is a restaurant with a small pool and patio overlooking the water. They serve sandwiches, salads and frozen drinks.
North Sound Beaches
If you're staying in a villa in the Leverick Bay area, we recommend you spend time exploring the beautiful North Sound. The North Sound offers a variety of small, sand beaches along its shores to explore such as Anguilla Point, Long Beach, Honeymoon Beach, Vixen Point, Eustatia Island, Deep Bay and Oil Nut Bay. Simply rent a dinghy boat from Leverick Bay Watersports to access any of these beaches.
Savannah Bay Beach
Located north of The Yacht Harbour in Spanish Town is Savannah Bay Beach, another one of Virgin Gorda's lovely white sand beaches. Many boats drop anchor in the peaceful bay to swim its waters and relax after a day sail. Spend the day basking in the sun and then watch the brilliant sunset at dusk.
Devil's Bay Beach
After you have spent time exploring The Baths, be sure to hike the 15-minute path through these great boulders south to Devil's Bay, one of the most beautiful beaches on the island. You have to climb a few rocks and squeeze through small spaces but the beautiful beach at the trail's end is worth the effort. Be sure to bring along your snorkel gear because this is another great spot for snorkeling and swimming.
Spring Bay Beach
Located north of The Baths is gorgeous Spring Bay Beach. This spot is a haven for sailboats to anchor while its passengers swim to the beach.
Little Leverick Bay Beach
Located near Leverick Bay Villas and the island's popular North Sound, Little Leverick Bay offers swimming and snorkeling for those staying on the North End of the island. This lovely beach is frequented by guests of Leverick Bay Resort and by those staying in one of the magnificent luxury villas in the area.
Mahoe Bay Beach
Mahoe Bay Beach is a perfect strip of white-sand beach where visitors can sun themselves in complete tranquility. Frequented by guests staying in the one of the luxurious Mahoe Bay Villas, this beach also offers excellent swimming and snorkeling for those looking to cool off from the Caribbean sun.
