Climate

The annual climate for the Virgin Islands is perfect for vacationing year-round. The islands share a sub-tropical climate where summer temperatures average between 79 and 89 degrees Farenheit and winter temperatures average between 72 and 82 degrees Farenheit. Even during its hottest months, the islands benefit from constant trade winds which cool the island. Average monthly rainfall is 100mm. Hurricanes can occur from anytime between June and November with the most likely time being in September and October.

Currency

The official currency of St. John is the US dollar. The majority of restaurants and shops accept cash and major credit cards such as VISA, Mastercard and American Express. ATM machines are located at banks and major grocery stores around the island. In general, financial institutions are open Monday- Friday, 8:30am- 3pm.

Most of our villas on St. John offer internet connection for your laptop, or offer a computer with internet service. Please see the amenities chart for each villa. If your particular villa rental does not offer internet access then we recommend visiting Surf Da Web Cyber Cafe (340-693-9152) in The Marketplace, which offers computers high-speed internet access. A barring service is in place on some villa phones for international calls. You may dial direct for local calls, which are complimentary and receive calls as well. Credit cards can be used for long distance dialing. The majority of US cellular phones work on St. John. Please contact your specific provider to confirm that you will receive service in the islands.
