Virgin Gorda - Activities

Day Trips

Norman Island
An incredible snorkeling destination, Norman Island is a popular place to drop anchor. Legend says buried treasure can be found in one of the many island caves. The island is supposedly the basis for Robert Louis Stevenson's novel Treasure Island. Just off Norman Island are The Indians, large rock formations similar to an Indian headdress, which make for good snorkeling, as well.

Anegada
Located north of Virgin Gorda, Anegada is known for its 300+ wreckages off Horseshoe Reef. The island is a flat coral and limestone atoll that never reaches more than 28 feet above sea level and, therefore, is virtually undetectable from afar. Anegada offers excellent snorkeling off its reefs and white sand beaches that stretch for miles. Fly BVI (284-495-1747) operating out of Tortola offers sightseeing tours of the island.
